A Story of Grace

“Powerful,” “engaging,” and “inspiring,” are just some of the words used to describe Amira Perera’s story.

Her true life story Out of Brokenness is expected to be published within the next year. She lived through war and family abuse; ran away from home as a teenager; and learned to overcome health obstacles to achieve her dreams in life. She hopes her story will inspire others to overcome their own difficulties. In spite of her experiences, Amira Perera has given to society by volunteering her time to help people such as prisoners, street people and new immigrants. More than anything, her desire is to show people how devastating and life altering (for the rest of one’s life on many fronts) violence can be. This is the reason she has decided to candidly share her life story.

Amira Perera has broken ground in the area of advocacy and help for disabled people in the past. She has pledged that 10% of all proceeds from fundraising, book sales, speaking engagements, and events she organizes will be given to the Charis Disability Fund. The Charis Disability Fund, administred by four individuals under a larger organization, exists to help disabled adults pay for medication and other needs.

Out Of Brokenness’ (seen below) is printed in the US; and will be available on Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, Winepress Publishing website etc. As soon as the book is in print a link will be put on this page so that people can purchase it.
